Why you should add Vietnam to your bucket list

My Vietnam experience overview

Vietnam, a unique adventure full of breathe taking views, the best food and a traumatic but interesting history.

Vietnam was so much more amazing than I had expected. This is the first country in Asia I had been to and it was so different from anywhere I had experienced before but for this reason I really fell in love with it.

I only had a short amount of time in Vietnam but I planned my time wisely and managed to fit everything in. I started in Hanoi and to be honest when I first arrived there I felt out of my depth as the culture of living was so different from my norm but I quickly fell in love with this. I noticed how friendly and inviting the locals were, the historic but crumbling infrastructure was quaint and the hustle bustle of the streets was exhilarating. Hanoi is my favourite place in Vietnam because of its individuality.

Following Hanoi, I flew to Da Nang, a beach side city surrounded by mountains. From there I went to Hoi An for the Lantern Festival and then flew to Ho Chi Minh City, the bustling capital city full of history and good food.

Vietnam is a must see travel destination especially for backpackers that seek new experiences and interesting history on a low budget. Just keep in the back of your mind to always be cautious and keep your belongings safe.

Vietnam is at the top of my list of places I have visited and I would highly recommend it!
